I am qualified to 17th Edition and Part P level, and am registered to carry out PAT testing.
The Electricity at Work Regulations require in Regulation 4(2) that : “As may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger.”
I can offer at very competitive prices an inspection and testing procedure for all your electrical used equipment, with record of maintenance including test results. Allowing you to comply with the mandatory requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulation 1989, and indicating to your insurance company compliance with the regulation, in the event of an incident.
Fuse Box/Consumer Unit
Modern fuse boards (consumers unit) with miniature circuit breakers (mcb’s) are much safer and easier to use than old style rewireable fuses – no more fiddling around in the dark to find the fusewire – mcb’s are reset at the flick of a switch. If you have access to a garden, the Wiring Regulations now state that an Residual Current Device (RCD) must be used for circuits supplying equipment used outside. A modern fuseboard will incorporate an RCD and give you greater protection against electric shock both inside and outside your home.
